Highly recommended school

My course was mixed ability and did have others with more experience but at no point did I feel out of my depth. They take you through at the pace that's right not only for you but for everyone . The teachers are insanely supportive & knowledgeable, the other students were a fabulous group to be part of an you really get to know each other over the 2 weeks. Highly recommend the school.

I was so confident in my decision to train there.

I attended CSMU and completed the IMA Foundation Level Certificate. I did lots of research before choosing the school and drove 360 mile round trip each week because I was so confident in my decision train there. The knowledge of the tutors is exceptional and they are very experienced.

One of the toughest technical challenges I've ever given myself. I am so glad I went to The Central School of Makeup as, although they were super-strict and thorough, I now have an excellent understanding of why and how which has given me wings and freedom in my artistry. The teachers are just excellent; they are beyond the best in their various fields and all of them have serious mileage in retail, pro makeup, LFW and international makeup artistry at Vogue cover level as well as theatre and TV. This was such a rewarding experience. I made some great friends, discovered so many new ideas and methods and worked with some interesting (not say stunning) models. Loved, loved this course and all the colour theory too. The science and techniques were truly absorbing. I've since booked more one-on-one courses and am so proud to have started my pro makeup artist journey from the best place.

I have just completed the 10 week Foundation course and I really enjoyed it. I have been taught loads of skills and gained knowledge to be able to feel confident enough to apply make up on others. The variety of make up brands and products that the school has for you to work with is fantastic and I genuinely felt like I was in great hands throughout the whole of the course. I’m actually quite sad that it had come to an end!

An amazing experience

10 week IMA course and overall had an amazing experience at The Central School of Makeup! All the staff were lovely, they answered every question throughout the course and always supported everyone during the practical lessons and theory work. The studio itself is immaculate and was always kept to high standard with the availability to use a large range of high end products. Most importantly all the staff went above and beyond to help us perfect our coursework and pass our 2 exams! It has now given me the confidence to kick start my own business as a qualified makeup artist.

I took the 2-week foundation course in October 2020. The school teaches you everything from makeup hygiene, application techniques and advice for setting up your own business. The idea of having to take a practical exam at the end of the 2 weeks might feel daunting but the teachers do a great job of making sure you’re ready.

Although I had attended other courses (online schools) and was involved in makeup, CSMU gave me new information, tips and tricks, instructions. I never stopped learning. It has been such a nice experience I would recommend the school to the future makeup artists. When teachers know how to teach, you will automatically learn what you need to know. I really wished I could have attended other courses straight away.
