Internship Summary: The Central School of Makeup is the UK’s first internationally accredited make-up school outside of London. Established in 2013 and accredited by the IMA, The Central School of Make-up has successfully trained over 1000 students with Industry recognised qualifications. Ideally located in Digbeth’s creative quarter, the School is now looking for a talented intern to support its growing business needs throughout 2021. The Central School of Makeup is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of makeup Artists and as such we strive to make this internship as realistic and hands-on as possible, gaining successful applicants an invaluable insight into the makeup industry.
Internship Duties and Responsibilities:
As an intern, you will be working closely with both the Office Manager and Lead Lecturer of the School, who will provide you with real hands-on projects and daily tasks. Interns will be able to apply classroom-based knowledge to projects and gain essential skills needed to be career ready. The internship is initially 2 days per week, one to be office based and the other classroom based, dependant on the School’s course schedule. Duties and Responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the Lead Lecturer & Office Manager in their roles
- Assist in the classroom/studio, maintaining hygiene standards, cleaning, organising and replenishing the makeup table
- Assisting our team on shoots
- Preparing Student Packs and Course Books
- Replenishing and organisation of stock
- General office duties including receiving phone call enquiries, mail deliveries, maintaining and organising files, printing and photocopying as needed
- Social Media support including helping to develop strategies for capturing and increasing our current audience and engagement
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Education:
- A current Student or Make-up Graduate from an accredited college or university
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organised
- Able to work autonomously as well as part of our small team
