CCTV - Privacy Policy
The Central School of Makeup is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy in accordance with data protection legislation.
We use CCTV surveillance within our premises for the purpose of public safety, crime prevention, and the protection of our students, staff, and visitors. CCTV recordings may be used as evidence for security-related incidents or legal proceedings, and they assist in identifying individuals involved in such events.
CCTV cameras only operate in designated areas, and signage is displayed clearly to inform individuals of their presence. This notice explains how we process and protect any personal data captured via our CCTV system.
CCTV can be turned off upon request to ensure privacy for clients or students who require modesty, such as those removing headscarves or participating in modeling sessions requiring partial nudity, such as body painting.

- Crime prevention and detection: To deter and investigate incidents of theft, vandalism, or unauthorised access.
- Legal obligations: To assist law enforcement or regulatory authorities when required.
- Legitimate interests: To safeguard the integrity of our facilities and uphold professional standards.
CCTV footage may also be used internally for incident review, staff training, or compliance with legal and insurance requirements.
What Information Is Collected?
CCTV captures:
- Video recordings of individuals within the monitored areas
- Entry and exit timestamps (if applicable)

Our system does not record audio, nor does it use automatic facial recognition technology.
Who We Share CCTV Footage With
We may share footage with:
- Law enforcement agencies (such as the police) for investigations or legal proceedings.
- Insurance companies (when required and approved by our Data Protection Team).
- Legal representatives if footage is needed for a dispute or claim.
- Internal security teams to assess incidents and prevent reoccurrences.
CCTV footage will never be shared for commercial purposes or with unauthorised individuals.
How Long We Keep CCTV Footage
CCTV recordings are automatically overwritten after 5 days, unless footage is required for an ongoing investigation. If footage is retained for legal or security reasons, it will be stored securely and only accessed by authorised personnel.
How We Protect Your Information
To ensure security and confidentiality, we implement the following safeguards:
- Secure storage: All CCTV footage is stored on a closed, password-protected system, not accessible via public networks.
- Restricted access: Only authorised personnel can view or retrieve recordings.
- Data encryption: To prevent unauthorised interception or tampering.
- Regular audits: To ensure compliance with data protection laws.
While we take all reasonable measures to protect your data, information transmitted over the internet (e.g., when requesting CCTV footage) cannot be guaranteed as 100% secure.

You have the right to:
- Request access to CCTV footage where you appear.
