Part-Time Professional Makeup Course

This 12-week, Monday-only course is designed for those working in beauty, hair, retail or other industries who want to gain professional makeup skills without interrupting their weekday schedule. You’ll receive hands-on training from industry professionals and build the essential techniques needed to start or develop a career as a makeup artist.

• Skin analysis, face shapes and skin tones
• Colour correcting and concealing
• Warming and cooling colours (colour wheel theory)
• Correct application and selection of foundation
• Contouring and highlighting
• Achieving perfect lips

• Day makeup techniques
• Evening makeup techniques
• Classic bridal makeup
• Asian bridal makeup
• Heavy glam makeup
• Soft glam looks
• Spotlight / halo eye

Eyes, brows & lashes

• Application and blending of eye makeup
• Application of eyeliners 
• Eyebrow shaping
• Application of false eyelashes (individual and strip)

Professional skills

• Client consultation techniques
• Building your professional makeup kit
• Create a business plan
• Freelance business advice

Assessments & Qualification

As part of the course you will:

• Sit a theory exam
• Complete a practical exam
• Submit coursework, including research projects and a business plan

On successful completion, you will receive the IMA Foundation Certificate in Makeup Artistry, a respected and globally recognised qualification.

• Breaks: Half Term and Easter (no classes on those dates)

• Course fee: £1,500
• Deposit to secure your place: £240
• Remaining balance: £1,260 (invoiced 14 days before the course start date)
