Our affordable five-day Foundation course includes intensive, hands-on make-up training, providing basic training in professional make-up skills and artistry. This course also provides training in professional makeup skills covering day, evening and special occasion looks and Bridal,  leading to industry recognised qualifications.

This course is aimed at those who wish to gain an insight into the makeup industry, those who are limited on time, those who are already self taught and working in the industry but do not have a qualification. Ideal for those who wish to refresh make up skills, gain a new hobby or work within the hair and beauty sector and wish to add additional skills to enhance their current careers. An ideal ‘taster’ for those thinking of attending one of our courses over a longer period. The course is balanced between demonstrations, and hands-on practical lessons in the comfort of our fully equipped professional make-up studios.

No previous experience is necessary for this course. All equipment (except brushes) are provided. Delegates will receive a qualification from the International Makeup Association.

 After your intensive five day hands-on training, delegate will complete an at home-study programme using course notes provided and complete a training portfolio of evidence including a practical and written assignment, plus approximately 10 make-up looks. 

You will be asked to come back for one day, once you have completed your portfolio* (this can potentially take up to 8 weeks), you can then take a practical exam and multiple choice theory paper. Coursework assessments and Practical Examinations are conducted by external examiners from the the International Make-Up Association.

*Once you have completed your home study programme can you come back to take the practical examination. 

EXAMINATION DATES ARE SCHEDULED MONTHLY THROUGHOUT THE YEAR AND SUBJECT TO A BOOKING FEE OF £50

*Age requirement for this course is 18 years old plus.

You will need to purchase a set of makeup brushes before starting the course.
